Keep Materials Cool and Dry
Store color masterbatch indoors in a clean, dry area, away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Keep bags on suitable pallets and protect them from water. Always follow the storage conditions specified for the particular grade.
Reseal Bags After Opening
Open packaging only when the material is needed. After taking the required quantity, tightly reseal the remaining masterbatch in its original packaging or a suitable labeled container.
Use clean scoops and containers to prevent dust, foreign particles, or pellets of another color from entering the material.
Maintain Clear Batch Records
Keep the product code, color reference, batch number, and delivery date visible. Use a first-in, first-out inventory system, while observing the supplier’s recommended shelf life.
Clear labeling also helps operators select the correct material and trace production issues more efficiently.
Check Whether Drying Is Required
Not every masterbatch requires the same drying procedure. Requirements depend on the carrier resin, formulation, base polymer, storage history, and application.
Check the technical data sheet before processing. Where drying is required, confirm the recommended temperature, duration, and equipment with the supplier. Avoid applying one drying setting to every grade.
Inspect Before Production
Check packaging for damage and pellets for visible contamination or unusual clumping. If material condition is uncertain, contact the supplier before use.
